In Spring 2013, I became a member of the El Dorado County Backyard Beekeepers but it wasn’t until the next year that I purchased and raised my first two beehives.

I have the hives near my fruit trees in the backyard and have been pleasantly surprised that they are not that much work. They do everything themselves.

Spring 2015, I will add honey supers (boxes) to the hives so I can harvest honey this year.
